Al Fellows was born in Brooklyn, New York. He was a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, class of 1944. He served in WWII as a commander in the United States Merchant Marine and as a lieutenant in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was then hired as a navigator by Seaboard. In the 1960's, he was a co-founder and director of Shannon Air, an international cargo carrier based at Shannon Airport.
Al and his family lived in many international ports-of-call including Seoul, Hong Kong, Zurich, Luxembourg, and Limerick. During his later years, he was an admissions field representative for his alma mater, the USMMA, in the Charlotte NC area.
He is survived by his beloved wife Lee, daughter Diane, son, Steven. He was also predeceased by his cherished sister Sylvia "Sis" Bonn.
