Art McNamara died of cancer on July 26, 2008. He was 80 years old.

Ray Powell
Ray Powell, of Sparta, TN, died at approximately noon on Wednesday, Sept. 24th en route to the hospital after having had a series of breathing problems. Exact cause of death is still not determined. He was 78 years old.
His wife, Margaret stated he will be cremated and that there will not be a memorial service.

Mack Murphree
About 0630 on the morning of August 22nd, Mack took off from North Las Vegas Airport aboard a Velocity 173 RG he was test flying. Authorities said the pilot had difficulty gaining altitude and radioed the control tower that he was going down. The aircraft crashed into a house causing an intense fire. Mack was 76 years old.

Capt. Dudley Boleware died early this morning, July 28, 2008, of prostate cancer at the hospice in Las Vegas. He was 68 years old. Per his wishes, he will be cremated. A memorial service will be held. When I get the info, I will notify the membership.

Ralph LangleyRalph M. Langley, navigator from 1950 to 1970, passed away on Monday evening, June 14 (Flag Day) in Wellington, FL. His wife, Lou Winna Langley, was with him at his death and still lives in Greenacres, FL. He is also survived by sons Larry and David, daughter Cathy Sutton, two nephews, and a niece. Ralph was 89 years old.
He lived a long and happy life, and enjoyed his years at Seaboard. He was widely respected by former colleagues at Seaboard, by his friends, by his fellow congregants at Levittown Baptist Church on Long Island, at Lake Osborne Presbyterian Church, FL, and by his neighbors.

Ralph NearyCapt. Ralph Neary died unexpectedly July 17, 2002 at the age of 81. He had been diagnosed with prostate cancer almost a year ago, had just received radiation and was looking forward to physical therapy. An embolus caused cardiac arrest.
Ralph was with Seaboard for thirty years during which time he was Chief Pilot and Director of Flight Operations. He and his wife Gloria (Heines) and two daughters moved to Hancock, NH in 1970. He retired in 1980 and enjoyed keeping in contact with SWA friends with like interests by ham radio. Gloria was a stewardess with SWA from 1951 - 1955 and flew on both the east and west coasts.
Joe WeiderJoe Weider passed away on July 1, 2002. He was one of the early Seaboard navigators, hired in 1948. He retired from Flying Tigers in 1983. Joe had been ill with cancer for two years and was 78 years old.

Stan LeBedisCapt. Stan LeBedis passed away on Nov. 30, 2001 in his sleep at home in Westport Ct. He was 70 years old. He was hired at Seaboard World in 1965. He flew as captain at Seaboard, Tiger and FedEx. He retired in 1995 as a 747 second officer.
He began flying with the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1951 and went on to fly for Trans Canada Airways (TCA), the precursor to Air Canada. He also flew as an engineering test pilot at Canadair, where he flew an early vertical takeoff tilt-wing aircraft, the CL-86.
He leaves his wife, Margaret and three grown children.
