(Sent to each member of staff)Dear Ken
Wow, after viewing A Crew Member's Album for the first time, I was absolutely amazed by the number of historical facts and wonderfully presented personal memories it contains. David and Ken, you have created a truly impressive and professional film that I am so pleased to have received. Thank you, thank you, thank you for providing us with this wonderful album, which has been such a pleasure to share with family and friends.
I would like to identify myself in one of the photos of unidentified crew members. In the photo [by Jo Ann Benzing] of the three F/A's sitting abreast at the front of the plane, I am on the right, wearing the blue uniform. It was a pleasant surprise to see this photo that I did not know existed.
There was another surprise for me - the photo of the SS United States. I mention this because I was on the maiden voyage of this ship, on the westward journey. My mother was an English war bride and we were returning from an extended visit with her family. It was my mother's first trip back to Britain since arriving in the US in 1946. Although I was 5 at the time and my younger brother one, I do have memories of our long visit and eventful trip home.
One more bit of info - I am a paralegal in a law firm (ins. defense), here in Lake Oswego. Federal Express is one of our major clients and I spend a lot of time working on FedEx files.
So, thank you for bringing back such fond memories of the past. Flying for SWA was one of the best things that ever happened to me. I have terrific memories of flying to Vietnam -also, seeing Don Ho in HNL, suffering the worst sunburn of my life in Guam, staying at the Tokyo Hilton after the long bus ride from Yokota, enjoying the luxury of rooms at the Hilton and, the Sanno Club. It was all very exciting. Thank you, again, for bringing it all back, so vividly.
